Heel Spurs
A heel spur is a calcium deposit causing a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel bone. Often associated with plantar fasciitis, it can cause significant pain and inflammation.

Symptoms:
Chronic heel pain; Sharp pain when stepping down after rest; Tenderness at the bottom of the heel; Visible bone-like protrusion; Pain that worsens throughout the day
Causes:
Prolonged stress on the heel bone and ligaments; Repetitive strain from running or jumping; Improper footwear; Excessive weight; Gait abnormalities
Treatments:
Rest and ice; Stretching exercises; Orthotic devices; Physical therapy; Anti-inflammatory medications; Corticosteroid injections; Surgery (rarely)
