Ingrown Toenails
An ingrown toenail occurs when the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain and inflammation.

Symptoms:
Pain and tenderness along the nail edges; Redness around the toenail; Swelling of the toe around the nail; Infection (pus, warmth, increased pain); Difficulty walking
Causes:
Improper nail trimming (cutting too short or rounding edges); Tight or ill-fitting shoes; Injury to the toe; Unusually curved toenails; Excessive sweating
Treatments:
Proper nail trimming techniques; Soaking the foot in warm water with Epsom salt; Gently lifting the ingrown edge; Antibiotics for infection; Partial nail removal; Permanent nail matrix destruction for recurring cases
